Family Film Nights
Fridays, December 1, 8, and 15 • 7 pm
This year, we’re doing something a bit different for the Season of Advent.
Every year for as long as I can remember, I’ve spent cozy nights in the Christmas season watching and re-watching favorite Christmas movies with my family – “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” I still get emotional when Linus tells everyone what Christmas is really all about – A Christmas Story, playing on a 24 hour loop on TBS – A Muppet Christmas Carol, a thoroughly delightful version of the Dickens’ classic.
These movies resonate because they tell stories of faith, redemption, and the joy of being together with people we love. And in this way, they reflect the good news at the heart of the Christmas season – God loves us so much that he came to be with us in-person, in Jesus, the baby in the manager, the Savior of the word, the Lord.
So, for the first three weekends in December, we’ll be gathering together on Friday night at 7 pm to watch a classic Christmas movie, and the following Sunday, Pastor Emily and I will preach on the gospel message found in each one.
- Friday, Dec 1 – “It’s a Wonderful Life” (Sermon on Sunday, Dec 3)
- Friday, Dec 8 –“Elf” (Sermon on Sunday, Dec 10)
- Friday, Dec 15 (in the Sanctuary due to FIND) – “A Christmas Carol” (Sermon on Sunday, Dec 17)
Join us for this night of faith, film, and fellowship! And bring your family and friends – this is a wonderful opportunity to share the good news with people who might not regularly come to church.
Sunday School
Sundays from 10:30 am – 11 am

Our dedicated team of Sunday School teachers (many of whom are past or present school teachers) lead little ones in Bible studies, music, crafts, and Bible-friendly games. Children grow in faith through fun and engaging activities and learn how to bring their faith into daily life.
Youth Group

St. John’s youth group is all about fun, faith, and community service. We provide a safe space for middle and high school youth to learn and grow in Christ – where you can hang out, have fun, and be yourself without worrying about judgment. We join together in a variety of monthly activities including Bible studies, fun outings, community service projects, and food & fun nights.
We have something for everyone and friends are always welcome!
Our Grace Space play area is available in the Sanctuary during Sunday Worship.
Confirmation
Confirmation is offered to students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Students meet with Pastor Jen for a time of fellowship, fun, learning, and lively conversation. This three-year program is based on the the “Colaborate” Confirmation curriculum from Sparkhouse.
