Caring Ministries at St. John’s
Guided by Pastor Jen Shaw, Visitation Pastor Jim Schoenrock, and our Caring Ministry Team Leaders, St. John’s continues to provide spiritual, physical, and emotional support for our community members in need. Please contact the church office for more information about any of the ministries detailed below.
St. John’s Prayer Chain
This dedicated group gives of their time to bring life-changing requests for healing, strength, and peace to the Lord. Our first prayer request was received on September 8, 2008. Many who have requested prayer over the years have conveyed their deep appreciation and said that they can feel the prayers.
Permission must be granted by the person or persons being prayed for in order to release information regarding their request. With permission, some prayer requests for church members or their family are also shared with the membership of St. John’s. Prayer requests are shared via email.
If you have a prayer request, or would like to join the Prayer Chain team, please contact the church office for more information.
St. John’s Eucharistic Visitation Team
Each week, members of St. John’s bring Communion, companionship, and conversation to those in our church community who are unable to attend regular worship services. This vital ministry allows individuals to experience the Lord’s Supper together with a caring minister in their own home.
Stephen Ministers are available to provide weekly support for those who are going through a difficult time.
Cancer Support Ministry
Administered through Stephen Ministry, we will provide the book “Cancer – What Now?” by Kenneth C. Haugk, Ph.D. to cancer patients or family members identified by Pastor or one of our caring ministers.
Grief Book Ministry
Grief Book Ministry provides the “Journeying Through Grief” resource guidebook quarterly for one year to those who are grieving a loss.
