St. John’s youth group is all about fun, faith and service. We are an active youth ministry that focuses on community service and outreach. We offer a fun, safe environment for middle and high school youth to learn and grow in Christ. Our youth group is a place where you can hang out, have fun with friends and be yourself without worrying about judgment or peer pressure.
We believe that God has given us all unique gifts and has a plan for each young life, so we offer programs to help guide kids in their faith and live out God’s will. Our “Friends in Faith” have the opportunity to choose from a variety of monthly activities including weekly Bible studies, fun outings, community service events, and food & fun nights. We have something for everyone and friends are always welcome! Check out the Youth page in our newsletter for a list of activities and events.
is offered to students in grades 6,7, and 8. Students meet for class with Pastor Jen after the 11 am service (12:15 to 1 pm) for a time of fellowship, fun, learning, and lively conversation. This three-year program is based on the the “Colaborate” Confirmation curriculum from Sparkhouse. We meet during the school year and break for the summer. Please contact Pastor Jen or Molly Farrin in the church office for more information.
Offered at 11 am worship, and designed for kids in Grades 1-5. We all gather together in the Worship service, and the kids are then dismissed for weekly lessons that include Bible studies, music, crafts, and Bible-friendly games. Children grow in faith though fun and engaging activities, and learn how to bring their faith into daily life. Kid’s Church rejoins the worship service to participate in Communion.
Rock the Flock
Rock the Flock is a dynamic youth ministry that provides a way for youth to share their faith in the community. This lively puppet group performs hilarious Christian parodies of pop and classic rock songs. Rock the Flock has a great time sharing the Word through performances for the congregation and at the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission. They even took their act to the streets and won the 2nd place humor trophy at the 2009 Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade! Check out our video link to see some of their awesome performances.
