Coachella Valley Rescue Mission – “90 Days of Summer Relief”
St. John’s is partnering with the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission for “90 Days of Summer Relief” to help provide relief for the homeless this summer. Items needed include: bottled water, hats, toiletries, and sunscreen. A donation box is in the Narthax. For more info, visit cvrm.org.
You can also contribute to the purchase of turkeys for the Thanksgiving meal by making a check out to St. John’s and noting “CVRM Turkeys” in the memo line. Thank you!
“I was hungry and you gave me food…”
Distribution takes place on the 4th Tuesday of every month beginning at 9 am.
Feeding people, both spiritually and physically, is at the very heart of the Christian faith and our church’s life. St. John’s has been a distribution site for the Food in Need of Distribution (FIND) program serving those in need of food assistance in our community since 1995. The program is funded solely by members and friends of St. John’s Lutheran.
First time recipients need proof of residency (gas or electric bills, drivers license, etc.) Anyone from other area of the Coachella Valley will be served on their first visit and then given a directory for distribution sites in their area.
If you would like more information, or to volunteer, please contact the church office.
