Caring

St. John’s Prayer Chain

This dedicated group gives of their time to bring life-changing requests for healing, strength, and peace to the Lord. Our first prayer request was received on September 8, 2008. Many who have requested prayer over the years have conveyed their deep appreciation and said that they can feel the prayers.

Permission must be granted by the person or persons being prayed for in order to release information regarding their request. With permission, some prayer requests for church members or their family are also shared with the membership of St. John’s. Prayer requests are shared via email.

If you have a prayer request, or would like to join the Prayer Chain team, please contact the church office at 760-345-2122 for more information.

St. John’s Eucharistic Visitation Team

Each week, members of St. John’s bring Communion, companionship, and conversation to those in our church community who are unable to attend regular worship services. This vital ministry allows individuals to experience the Lord’s Supper together with a caring minister in their own home.

If you would like to join the Eucharistic Visitation Team, or would like Communion brought to you, please contact Pastor Jen at the church office at 760-345-2122 for more information.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are available to provide weekly support for those who are going through a difficult time. For more information, please contact Pastor Jen through the church office.

Cancer Support Ministry

St. John’s has launched a new ministry of support for people diagnosed with cancer and for their families. Administered through Stephen Ministry, we will provide the book “Cancer – What Now?” by Kenneth C. Haugk, Ph.D. to cancer patients or family members identified by Pastor or one of our caring ministers. For more information, to help support this ministry, or to discuss ways we might provide support to cancer patients and their family members, please contact Pastor Jen through the church office.

Traditional Worship
Mar 24 @ 9:00 am – 10:00 am

Traditional worship at 9:00 AM is a liturgically responsive worship service, based on the Bible and the Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal. St. John’s talented Patrick Karst accompanies this service on organ and keyboard and Laura Stave provides her beautiful voice as cantor and soloist. This service is formal, yet relaxed, allowing time for prayer and reflection, with communion each Sunday.

St. John’s choir, directed by Laura Stave, also provides special music on occasion.

Communion Assistant Training @ St. John's Lutheran Church

Praise Worship
Mar 24 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Our 11:00 AM Worship is a “lighter” liturgy than the 9:00 AM service. The service’s jazz and praise beat encourages participation from the worshipers and although we mainly sing contemporary praise songs, we don’t neglect beloved hymns. The Praise team is directed by Bob Corwin and is comprised of Bob Corwin, pianist, Danny Flahive, bass fiddle, and Ron Mercier on the drums. Samantha Corwin and Laura Stave are the lead singers whose rhythmic harmony strengthens participation. These talented women also sing solos and duets each Sunday.

Lessons, sermons and announcements are the same at both services with Holy Communion every Sunday.
